In November 1950, the U.S. 1st Marine Division advanced cautiously northward, constantly prodded to move faster by their corps commander Edward Almond, perhaps the U.S. Army’s least competent general since the Civil War. Marine commander Oliver P. Smith insisted that his Marines faced overwhelming numbers of Chinese People’s Volunteer Army troops and proceeded carefully.

On 27 November Smith’s caution saved his division, when the Chinese attacked with the ten divisions of the 9th Army, hardened veterans of the Chinese Civil War. Cut off and surrounded, the Marines fought their way free in one of the epic battles in American military history. The Americans suffered 10,000 battle casualties and the Chinese 30,000.

Chosin Reservoir is a Panzer Grenadier expansion based on these battles. You get 20 new scenarios and 128 new die-cut, silky-smooth pieces, most of them introducing the People's Liberation Army to Panzer Grenadier. You’ll need Korean War: CounterAttack (and only CounterAttack) to play all of the scenarios.
